There are several ways to get energy:
1) Wait for it to regenerate over time.
2) Buy a special generator called the Energy Source in the Store for diamonds.
3) Buy it for diamonds by tapping the energy button.
4) Get it as a reward for participating in events and season, or for completing Daily Quests.
5) Find it in chests.
6) Get it from Store offers.
